Possible Common Formats

Open standards that are in common use today and that are available on a wide range of platforms are SGML (ISO 8879) and HTML (URL: http://www.w3.org/) as document description languages as well as PostScript and its successor, the Portable Document Format (PDF), both of which belong to the category of page description languages/formats.

For the MeDoc library, HTML and PDF have been chosen as the formats to be used, see [1].
