More c0ding: But ... I'm not done typing my login name, Mr. getty(8)!
NetBSD's getty(8) has a funny feature to jump immediately to
prompt for a password after reading LOGIN_NAME_MAX (== 16)
chars, no press of the return key needed. While the subject is still being
discussed, I have made a patch to make getty(8) not jump to
the password prompt, but to beep and not accept any further
input. See PR bin/30295 for the details.
(And now let's see who picks this up first, and if
credit is given this time ...)
