NetBSD now included in Coverity code scans (Updated)
Coverity
is a tool to do static code analysis, and they have recently
announced
to offer their service for open source projects, in cooperation
with the US Department of Homeland Security.
After missing the first round, NetBSD is now included
in the latest scans.
With more than 5 million lines of code one of the biggest projects,
and with 0.69 defects per thousand lines of code not the worst,
but there's definitely a lot of room for improvement.
Stop slacking, send patches!
Update for those wondering about that number of 5 millions:
apparently NetBSD 3.0's kernel is like 4.2million lines of code,
NetBSD-current's kernel is like 4.6 million and full NetBSD-current
(userland + kernel, no X) is 26 million lines. -current xsrc is
another 15 million. That's a whopping 40 million LoC in NetBSD!
