[20130115] Presentation about NetBSD as base for an mobile environment: Touch you NetBSD
Pierre Pronchery has posted to the netbsd-advocacy@ list about the presentation "Touch you NetBSD" that he gave at the EHSM conference in December 2012 in Berlin.

The conference was about hardware hacking, and the talk shows how to use NetBSD as base for a handheld environment, including hardware platforms as well as drivers for touchscreens, GPS and GSM.

An excellent ressource for people interested in NetBSD as base for a mobile platform!

[20110417] Prezi: on NetBSD and pkgsrc
Looking around for alternative presentation methods, I stumbled across Prezi. PreziIt uses a path through a mind map to show concepts and connections. It's free for public use, can create output for the web (Flash), as PDF (boring slideshow style :) and also give you a ZIP file with a Windows and a Mac OS X binary for offline consumption.

Meetings can be scheduled for webinar-style online presentation, and there's a aso a Desktop version that can be used offline.

As a show-off, here's what's possible, with NetBSD and pkgsrc as topic, plus some historical background on those topics:

This presentation is also available as PDF snapshot, as Windows/Mac ZIP-snapshot file and online.

[20070402] pkgsrc resource for Solaris and Linux
Uli Habel hinted me at his pkgsrc page which features bulk build stats for Solaris and Linux and the corresponding binary packages, His (german language) presentation about pkgsrc on Linux and Solaris from the Augsburg Linux-Infoday as well as his blog that mentions NetBSD and pkgsrc on and off. Enjoy!

[20070224] German language articles: Systrace, and Deleting Files Safely
Stefan Schumacher has mentioned two of his recent articles and presentations on regional-de:
  1. "Daten sicher löschen" (deleting files safely) talks about deleting files in a secure way. The article also mentions a NetBSD 4.0_BETA2 based Live CD called "NetBSD/Schrubber", an article and slides for a presentation about the topic that Stefan will give at the Chemnitz Linuxdays 2007.

  2. "Systrace" contains an (also german language) introduction on what Systrace is and how to use it, including an article and presentation slides that Stefan gave at the GUUG Spring Talks 2007 and will give at the Chemnitz Linuxdays 2007.
Mmm, NetBSD advocacy at its best! :-)

Not exactly specific to NetBSD, but still some good background material (with nice pictures :): Jan Schauman's presentation ``Useless Use of *'' (PDF), held at the SCALE 2007.

[20061225] EuroBSDCon 2006 presentation: What's new in NetBSD?
I've missed that a few weeks ago, but catching up some old mail brought up Emmanuel Dreyfus' EuroBSDCon 2006 presentation "What's new in NetBSD?". See also Emmanuel's mail fo netbsd-users@.

[20060906] Presentations: Easy Software Installation with pkgsrc
Last year, D'Arcy J. M. Cain went to an event (...) to give a presentation about pkgsrc, and we worked together to re-use a presentation on the same topic I gave before. Only now I've managed to put the presentation online: click here for the PDF! The slides are made with LaTeX and the prosper package.

If someone wants to give a similar presentation about pkgsrc somewhere, feel free to get in touch with me. E.g. for showing off pkgsrc at the OpenSolaris Developer Conference 2007 in Berlin.

[20060208] Xen and the Art of SysAdmin
Last wednesday, Johnny Lam gave a presentation about "Xen and the Art of SysAdmin" at the New York BSD User Group, NYCBUG. The presentation was about using Xen in the real world to simplify the maintenance of BSD systems, including a short introduction to Xen and how it works, an in-depth look at the details of one particular Xen setup along with some performance results, and how using Xen simplifies life as an admin.

Both the presentation (html) and the audio track (mp3) are available.
